ABB Medium Voltage (MV) drives provide efficient, reliable motor control for high-power industrial and infrastructure applications where a Low Voltage (LV) Variable Speed Drive (VSD) may no longer be the most practical or technically suitable solution.
The ABB MV drive range includes ACS580MV, ACS8080, ACS6080, ACS5000 and MEGADRIVE-LCI solutions for large pumps, fans, compressors, conveyors, mills, mine hoists, rolling mills, marine propulsion, test stands, gas turbine starters and other demanding motor-driven applications.
MV drives are typically selected where motor power, supply voltage, starting current, cable length, harmonic performance, process criticality or lifecycle cost requires a more engineered approach.
